1900's Edwardian Black Mourningwear Day Dress with Lace and Sequinned Trim
An Edwardian era black sequinned day or dinner dress, in very good condition, but with some age and storage related flaws, and some of the lace was replaced at one point but hard to say specifically when this happened. Some of the decorative piping is worn showing the cotton cord underneath the silk. There is also black glass beaded embellishment.
Some of the silk lining is splitting, and unfortunately shattering by the looks of it. Ive done some mending to the netting and lining where needed but some if the issues are not able to be repaired. The sequins look to be gelatin, the netting is cotton by the looks of it. The closure is with hooks and eyes in the centre back of the dress.
The dress fits a modern size 4-6 but is fragile and really isn't suitable for wear.
