1940’s Cream Lace Wedding Dress With Puffed Sleeves and Gathered Skirt
A 1940’s wartime wedding dress, likely restored and worn again in the 1980’s. The original metal zipper has been replaced with a white plastic YKK one, and most of the seams have been serged. It’s likely that the dress was taken apart and re-lined. The top of the zipper looks to be missing a hook/eye set.
Shown on an antique mannequin, likely size 2-4 modern, the dress measures 31" bust, 26" waist, 39" hips, 55" in length, but could certainly be turned up if too long, since the lining layers have only been overlocked.
The belt and bias binding are synthetic, the inner lining layer is cotton, the middle skirt layer is synthetic.
