1940's Vintage Cream Satin Long Sleeve Wedding Dress with Buttons and Lace Accents
A late 1940's vintage cream satin wedding dress in very good condition. There is some wear and staining to the right sleeve and minor discolouration on both the bodice and skirt, likely caused by improper storage in a non-acid free box. The dress looks to be largely machine stitched, with some hand finishing. There are some ironing marks likely from pressing the satin in the skirt that are only noticeable in certain lighting. The beading on the front is artificial pearls, the dress has decorative buttons in front and buttons/loops for closure in the back.
Some of the self covered buttons which is how the dress closes, are discolouring and taking on greenish tinge, likely depending on the material used underneath. The waistband material inside was added as reinforcement, but is not original.
The dress is fits a size 2-4, and measures 36" bust, 26" waist, hips free with 24/25" long sleeves that have slight points to them at the cuffs, and is 57" in length from nape of neck to hem.
The dress is a bit fragile so is best used as a study/reference piece. We have other wedding dresses, hats and veils in stock from a variety of decades as well.
